How To Qualify

The staff of Powersports Business magazine hand-selects the roster of dealers that are invited to attend PowersportsBusinessCongress each year.

Specifically, we look for multi-point dealership with equal geographic disbursement and varying levels of overlap in different markets and/or product lines carried. Participating dealers—whose attendance is paid for by PSBC—must agree to send the principal/owner of the company, although many previous participants have brought various level of their management team along at their expense. If you are interested in being considered for PSBC, contact Lori Hackett, Event Director, at 763-383-4449.

You Control Your Agenda

When you participate in PowersportsBusinessCongress, you control the agenda. You’ll meet top-level executives representing suppliers ranging from those that are moving into the powersports industry to established companies. Take the time to build your relationships with executives that can positively impact the way you do business. And you can do it in a fraction of the time it normally takes—away from the typical daily distractions of your dealership.

Here’s How It Works

Since 1998, the powersports industry has relied on Powersports Business magazine for the most authoritative coverage of breaking business and financial news affecting this $40 billion industry. PowersportsBusinessCongress is a natural brand extension to the ongoing thoughtful analysis of industry trends and happenings we provide to help improve your business.

Each participating supplier company will be provided a suite in which to conduct confidential discussions with your management team. As an invited dealer participant, you will be escorted from suite to suite for 40-minute scheduled appointments with each participating supplier. The suppliers will use the privacy of their suites to most appropriately address your needs with one-on-one discussions. Limited, alternative open times will be provided throughout the three-day event should participants wish to expand their meeting times.

"I acquired more knowledge in my 40-minute supplier meetings than I have in all the years I’ve been dealing with those companies. I formed at least four new business relationships. I already have new retail product in the store from two manufacturers, and I’m selling extended warranties from a new F&I supplier. At least half of these new suppliers have checks from us already."
Jim Faiella, President, Peacock Ltd.

Pre-Event Preparation

A unique event preparation component of PowersportsBusinessCongress is the exclusive access to the PowersportsBusinessCongress Xtranet prior to the event. This private online communications tool allows you to exchange detailed information regarding the specific needs of your dealership. It also allows your team to communicate directly with each supplier over a period of four weeks prior to the onsite meetings. Both dealers and suppliers will arrive fully prepared and ready to take advantage of the face-to-face time onsite.

Each participating supplier and OEM receives summaries of the specific goals of the dealer teams with whom they will meet. These points are gleaned from interviews conducted by our editorial staff with each dealer.

It is extremely important for all invited dealers to make themselves

available for these 35-40 minute phone discussions with our editorial team.

This information is also hosted on our secure Xtranet and becomes the basis upon which dealers and suppliers begin discussions in preparation for the onsite meetings, ensuring that meetings are not merely introductory, but substantive, strategic sales meetings. The preparation period ensures that your specific needs will be addressed during each of your 40-minute meetings.

All the unique features of this event—the interview process, the dealer profiles, the Xtranet and the preparatory discussions—are designed to bring dealers and suppliers to a more productive point in their business relationship BEFORE the event, so while AT the event, real business opportunities can be identified and action plans formulated.
